Bohdan Holomíček is a contemporary Czech documentary photographer who was born in Ukraine in 1943. In 1947, he moved with his parents to Mladé Buky in the Krkonoše Mountains. Between 1957 and 1960, he trained as an electrician and worked at a thermal power plant in Poříčí near Trutnov until 1968. In 1968 and 1969, he worked at the Trutnov Museum; from 1969 to 1971, he worked for the company Geoindustria; and from 1971 to 1995, he worked as a maintenance technician at the heating plant in Jánské Lázně.
