After spending the first three years of my life in Dresden, I fled. Been. Into the Upper Lusatia. From the city to the village. For some a step back. We had forest. At the time of reunification, I was 12 years old. Old enough to queue for the first tropical fruits at the Konsum; too young and too far away for Monday demonstrations. In a certain way, this has shaped me. I was always somehow there, but never completely. Since then, I observe more from a distance, rather than really being in the middle of it. Not in the middle instead of just being there; but exactly the other way around.

After graduating from high school in Bischofswerda, I first trained with Deutsche Bahn. Then worked as a train dispatcher in Rheine / Westphalia. Returned to Dresden to study Ancient History, Philosophy and German Studies. Afterwards, I spent six years trying to introduce students at TU Dresden and Ruhr University Bochum to the ancient world. Further training as an online editor and technical writer catapulted me into the digital age. Various positions in public relations ultimately led me to my current job as an editor in a publishing house.

In addition to all this – school, vocational training, university, professional work – I have always written. First beginnings of novels, then short stories, plays, and finally poems. Most of it neither published nor otherwise released. Since 2017, however, my website has served as a digital collection of my works. If you feel like it, just take a look.
