I am Ana Manyari, come from Lima, Peru and have been living in Germany since November 2000. I lived in Bielefeld for 21 years, where I completed my teaching degree at the University of Bielefeld. Since then, I have been a Spanish and pedagogy teacher.
In 2022, I moved to the beautiful and cultural city of Dresden for professional reasons. Currently, I work as a Spanish teacher at the secondary school and vocational high school in Rabenau.
Regarding art and painting, I am an amateur. Almost all my life I had a preference for drawing and expressed my inspirations on paper with a pencil. However, I knew neither painting techniques nor had general knowledge about colors.
Without prior knowledge of colors and painting techniques, I attended two watercolor courses at the VHS with Olaf Kleipzig from March to April 2024. During the course, I discovered my fascination for watercolor, especially in the wet-on-wet technique. From the precise, linear, two-color strokes that a drawing requires, I discovered the free and even arbitrary magical movement of water.
After my brief entry into watercolor, I am looking for my own style and I would like to share that with you in this exhibition.
