Volker Sielaff was born in Lausitz in 1966 and lives in Dresden as an author and freelance cultural journalist. Since 1990, he has been publishing poems, essays, and critiques in renowned literary magazines (including “manuskripte”, “Diwan”, and “Sprache im technischen Zeitalter”), anthologies (including “Yearbook of Poetry” 2002, C.H.Beck Verlag), and daily newspapers (including “Tagesspiegel” and “Frankfurter Rundschau”). He writes for the NZ poetry anthology. His poems have been translated into English, French, Italian, Danish, Czech, Polish, Hungarian, and Arabic. In autumn 2003, the poetry collection “Postcard for Nofretete” was published by Verlag zu Klampen (www.zuklampen.de). In 2007, Volker Sielaff received the Lessing sponsorship award. In autumn 2011, his poetry collection “Self-portrait with Dwarf” was published by luxbooks Wiesbaden (www.luxbooks.de). His poetry collection “Glossary of the Prince” was published in spring 2015 by luxbooks, and in May 2015, the author received the honorary gift of the German Schiller Foundation for his literary work.
