A space filled with small mimosa plants. Do you dare to touch them? Their leaves curl up and close themselves off from you. Shame on you! What remains is silence and the urge to perform, in order to not reveal oneself. But a few of these delicate plants try not to escape your gaze. What is possible when that which is shameful is brought to the forefront of the performance? Can a sense of connection be reestablished?
Chiara Detscher and Alina Lucifero, together with six other actors from the Dresden dance and music scene, explore individual triggers of shame and their effects on interpersonal interactions.
In short solo contributions by Jule Oeft-Rottluff, Amit Abend, and Odbayar Batsuuri, as well as collective improvisations, musically accompanied by Jannicke Hagen and Albrecht Ernst, we want to illuminate different perspectives and nuances of the theme. Because shame is always dependent on origin, social conditioning, and societal contexts.

Exploring new spaces and design possibilities for cultural collaboration projects:
This is the work of the Dresden cultural and club collective Der Halle, consisting of cultural actors from different fields, who aim to establish an independent and easily accessible venue for diverse cultural events in the industrial area. The pandemic has severely hindered this endeavor.
Together and as part of the Neustadt Art Festival, we want to support the further development of the Der Halle collective and thus a new venue for cultural events, and make it accessible to the public through this pop-up performance.
After the show:
Immediately following the pop-up event, we will open the Halle for a communal exchange.
From 10 pm, there will be a party with musical contributions from the techno duo fllood, consisting of Leon Damm and Ión Lopez Leal, as well as DJ Alphonsine Koh.
