“Long days, short years” – a colorful exhibition featuring illustrations and mixed media art by Bela Alvarez and Julia Eichhorn.
Two artists with different backgrounds and styles connect their lives through a pandemic and motherhood. Painting and crafting with the children saves us through the sometimes endless days. The curiosity and joy with which they play and experiment infects us and helps us wipe our eyes, glued shut by life, clear again. We try to capture the unique chaos that arises in life with young children forever in a jar.
What do you see from the sofa when instead of tidying up, you prefer to enjoy the view? How does it feel to take a few colors in your hand, shake off all barriers, and just start?
What world will we leave for the younger ones? What will we find in the box of photos from grandma after she is no longer here?
This exhibition very honestly shows Bela and Julia’s journey over the past 6 years.
It will feature illustrations, some embroidery on paper and fabric, and a paper figure.
